Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina  Fuquary-Varina, NC - One Killed in Crash on Angier Rd. near Atlantis St.

A fatal car accident in North Carolina can take place anywhere at any time. In 2020, our state saw an increase in the number of fatal crashes on our roadways as more than 1,500 lives were lost in car accidents. While each crash must be carefully investigated by authorities, a large majority of North Carolina car accidents occur due to the negligence of another driver. These accidents happen because drivers are either violating a traffic law or are otherwise driving carelessly and recklessly. In these situations, innocent motorists are at great risk of being killed or injured because of the actions of another driver.

Under North Carolina law, car accident victims and their families could find relief when they have been affected by a crash. If you have lost a loved one in an accident, you could bring a wrongful death claim on behalf of your deceased family member. These claims can be filed when the other driver was negligent and their negligence was a direct cause of death. Wrongful death claims allow the recovery of a variety of types of compensation, including funeral and medical bills, loss of companionship, loss of earnings, punitive damages, and potentially more.
