If you have lost a loved one in a traffic crash, our thoughts are with you. Under North Carolina law, a victim’s next-of-kin, or personal representative, may be entitled to file a wrongful death claim in certain situations. These claims must be filed within two years of the date of death and can include claims for compensation based on lost wages, funeral bills, medical bills, loss of companionship, punitive damages, and more. These claims are complicated and should only be handled by an attorney with experience in this area.
