Davie County, NC – Teenage Bicyclist Hit by Truck on Sheffield Road

Davie County, NC (October 9, 2020) – A teenage bicyclist was injured in a crash that took place in Davie County on Thursday. The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on Sheffield Road near Turkey Foot Road.

According to reports from the scene, the bicyclist was riding westbound on Sheffield when the rider attempted to cross the road from a private driveway. While crossing, the bicyclist was struck by a passing vehicle. Rescue crews arrived at the scene and airlifted the injured bicyclist to Brenner’s Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem. There is no word on the condition of the teenage victim at this time. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. Police have not said whether the driver faces any charges in connection with the crash.
