Currituck, NC – 48-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash on US 158

Currituck, NC (May 24, 2022) – A 48-year-old man died in a two-vehicle accident on US 158 in Currituck. The crash took place just after 6:00 a.m. on US Highway 158 near Point Harbor.

According to a report from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old girl from Moyock was operating a vehicle northbound on US 158 when she crossed left of center and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle was identified as 48-year-old Kenneth Hudson, Jr. of Elizabeth City. Hudson died in the collision. The 18-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered critical injuries.

Police were at the scene until just after 9:00 a.m. while the accident was investigated. During this time, motorists were asked to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible.
