Apex, NC – Sheryl Greer Hurt in Crash on U.S. 1 near N.C. Highway 55

Apex, NC (March 21, 2021) – A woman from Cary sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident that took place in Apex on Tuesday, March 16th. The collision occurred around 8:40 a.m on U.S. Highway 1 near North Carolina Highway 55.

Trooper J.P. Thomas with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the crash. According to a report from Trooper Thomas, Broderick Lamar Lowery, of Raleigh, was driving a 2008 Chrysler northbound on U.S. 1. Suddenly, Lowery lost control of his vehicle in wet conditions and hydroplaned across the road. Lowery’s vehicle then collided with a 2003 Toyota driven by Sheryl Greer, of Cary. Both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest on the shoulder following the collision.

Greer was transported to Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh and Lowery was taken to Rex Hospital. Neither driver’s condition is available at this time. Following an investigation, Lowery was charged with failure to maintain lane control.
