Surry County, NC – One Killed in Three-Car Crash on I-74

Surry County, NC (January 25, 2021) – One person was killed in a car accident that took place in Surry County on Saturday, January 23rd. The accident happened just before 12:00 p.m. on Interstate 74 near the merger with Interstate 77.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene, along with the Surry County EMS. According to officials, the accident involved a total of three vehicles. At this time, there is no word on what caused the crash to take place. Rescue workers say that one person died at the accident scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not available. No additional injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Motorists were advised to avoid the area while police and rescue crews worked at the scene.  There is no information on whether any charges are expected.
