Greensboro, NC – Victoria Tate Killed in Tuesday Crash on I-40

Greensboro, NC (June 23, 2021) – A 51-year-old woman was among two people who were killed in a three-car crash on Interstate 40 in Greensboro. The accident happened around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22nd.

The Greensboro Police Department was called to the scene just after the collision occurred. According to reports, 19-year-old Priya Hairston was traveling on I-40 when, for unknown reasons, her car crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a white Kia. The car then struck a black Jeep before all three vehicles came to rest. The driver of the Kia, 51-year-old Victoria Tate, was killed in the crash. Tate’s 17-year-old passenger was also killed and another child in the Kia was transported to a hospital in unknown condition. There is no word on whether any other injuries were sustained.

Following an investigation, police charged Hairston with driving left of center and two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. No further information has been reported at this time.
