Greensboro, NC – Stranded Motorist Hurt in I-40 Hit-and-Run Crash

Greensboro, NC (September 21, 2020) – Police in Greensboro responded to a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 40. The crash took place on Friday, September 18th around 8:15 p.m on I-40 near the exit for Gallimore Dairy Road.

According to a report, the victim suffered a flat tire and part of the tire ended up in the roadway. A portion of the tire was lying in the roadway when the victim went to retrieve the tire. As the driver was in the road, he was struck by a passing vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene before officers could arrive. The unidentified victim sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. There is no further update on his condition at this time.

Officers are searching for a silver 2003-2006 model Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, or Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle may be missing part of its right side mirror and may have damage on the right side as well.
