Alamance County, NC – George Paire Killed in Friendship Mill Road Crash

Alamance County, NC (July 31, 2020) – An 84-year-old man from Siler City was killed in a three-car accident that took place on Tuesday, July 28th in Alamance County. The crash happened around 11:45 a.m. on Friendship-Patterson Mill Road near North Carolina Highway 62.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene shortly after the collision occurred. When troopers arrived, they immediately began an investigation into the crash. According to reports, 37-year-old Lindsay Marie Baldwin of Snow Camp was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when she rear-ended a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Kenneth Bryan Williams of Graham. Williams’ vehicle then traveled over the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by 84-year-old George Edgar Paire. Paire’s car was hit head-on.

George Paire was killed in the crash. His passenger, Gail Paire, was airlifted to UNC Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. Williams suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Baldwin was not hurt in the crash.

Baldwin fled the crash scene but was later located and arrested by Highway Patrol troopers. She was charged with felony death by motor vehicle, felony hit-and-run, and reckless driving. She was taken to the Alamance County Jail where she was held on a $50,000 bond.
