Fatal Crashes in North Carolina  Winston-Salem, NC - Tyler Rodriguez, Jeremy Wanichko Killed in Saturday Crash

The loss of a loved one in a North Carolina car accident is one of the most devastating events that any family will ever experience. Unfortunately, fatal crashes occur in our state every day. According to the North Carolina Department of transportation, 1,487 people lost their lives in North Carolina traffic accidents in 2019. Fatal car accidents happen suddenly and unexpectedly and can take place on major highways, city streets, or in quiet residential areas. Drivers must always be aware of the potential for a serious and deadly crash to occur and should take precautions to lower their risks of being involved in an accident.

Under North Carolina law, you could have legal rights if your loved one was killed in a crash that was not their fault. The North Carolina wrongful death statute allows a family member to bring a claim within two years of the date of their loved one’s death. These claims can be filed if your loved one was killed by the negligence of another person.
