Winston-Salem, NC – Sandra Sheatsley Hurt in U.S. 52 Car Accident

Winston-Salem, NC (June 6, 2021) – A woman from Beckley, WV was injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place on Friday, June 4th in Winston-Salem. The crash happened on U.S. Highway 52 at the intersection with East 5th Street.

According to Officer JW Hwang of the Winston-Salem Police Department, James Raymond Sheatsley, of Beckley, was operating a vehicle southbound on U.S. 52. At the same time, Kevin Luke Smith, of Morganton, was attempting to merge onto the highway. Smith failed to yield and collided with the passenger side of Sheatsley’s car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Sheatsley’s passenger, Sandra Sheatsley, was hurt in the accident. She was taken by Life Star EMS to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. There is no update on her condition at this time. Both vehicles were towed from the scene following the accident.
