New Hanover County, NC – Jannon Gail Rogers Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash

New Hanover County, NC (June 24, 2020) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash that took place in New Hanover County on Monday, June 22nd. The crash happened on Hillside Drive near the Federal Point area.

The New Hanover County Sheriff reports that 30-year-old Austin Taylor Hall was driving a 2013 Chevrolet pickup truck on Hillside when he struck 45-year-old Jannon Gail Rogers as she was walking along the side of the road. Hall fled the crash scene before police could arrive. His vehicle was located a short distance away.

Rogers died as a result of her injuries. Hall was later arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run and driving while impaired. An investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
