Laurinburg, NC (March 8, 2021) – The Laurinburg Police Department responded to the scene of a car accident on Saturday, March 6th. The crash took place around 9:35 a.m. on U.S. Highway 401 near Purcell Road.
According to Capt. Chris Young with the Laurinburg Police Department, a man from Clio, South Carolina was driving a 2006 Dodge southbound on U.S. 401. At the same time, a man from Laurinburg was driving a 1999 Honda in the left lane. The Honda driver tried to merge into the right lane and collided with the left front quarter panel of the Dodge. The Honda spun around and traveled into the northbound lanes before flipping onto its roof and coming to rest. Two adults and two juveniles inside the Honda were taken to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. The adults were airlifted while the minors arrived at the hospital by ambulance.
The crash is still under investigation at this time and charges are expected. There is no additional information available.
