Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina
North Carolina can be a dangerous place for motorists. According to statistics from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, there are more than 1,400 reported fatalities that take place annually in crashes across our state. Many of these fatal accidents involve drivers who are distracted or are otherwise negligent, resulting in catastrophic consequences for victims and their loved ones.
If you have lost a loved one in a North Carolina car accident, you are undoubtedly experiencing very strong emotions. The loss of a family member in a crash is a very unexpected event and such a sudden tragedy can lead to feelings of grief, frustration, and anger. During this time, as you attempt to move forward, you may have questions regarding your legal rights and responsibilities. If your loved one was killed due to the actions of a negligent driver, you should speak to an attorney right away.
Under North Carolina law, the deceased victim’s next-of-kin can bring a wrongful death claim against a driver who caused the death of their loved one. These claims are commonly brought in cases of fatal car accidents. Family members may be entitled to recover certain types of damages including loss of companionship, payment of funeral and medical bills, lost wages, and more. These claims are complicated, however, and should only be handled by an experienced attorney.

During that time, we have successfully recovered more than 40 million dollars for injured crash victims and their families and we would be proud to assist you as well.
