Charlotte, NC – Pedestrian Killed in Crash on University City Blvd.

Charlotte, NC (October 26, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in North Charlotte early Monday. The collision was reported around 2:30 a.m. on University City Blvd. near Interstate 85.

According to police, the victim was walking near the roadway when they were hit by a passing motorist. The victim, whose identity has not been released at this time, was later pronounced dead from their injuries. The accident took place in the southbound lanes of the roadway. There were no other injuries reported in the accident. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and has not been identified at this time. The road remained closed until after 5:00 a.m. as police cleared the crash scene and conducted an investigation into the accident. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel if possible.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating the accident. There is no additional information at this time.
