Brunswick County, NC – Two Killed in Car Accident on N.C. 130

Columbus County, NC (October 15, 2020) – Two people were killed in a car accident that took place in Columbus County on Thursday, October 15th. The crash happened on North Carolina Highway 130.

There are few details available surrounding the cause of the accident or the events that led up to it. According to reports, however, the crash took place around 8:15 a.m. and involved a single vehicle, a GMC van. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, along with fire crews, and the Waccamaw EMS responded to the accident scene. Both deceased victims died at the scene while a third person was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Both directions of the highway were closed following the accident and motorists were advised to find alternate routes.
