Winston-Salem, NC – Gary Wayne Peak Hurt in Rosewood Ave. Pedestrian Crash

Winston-Salem, NC (January 8, 2021) – The Winston-Salem Police Department was called to the scene of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Wednesday, January 6th. The accident was reported at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Rosewood Avenue near the intersection with Miller Street.

The accident occurred when Gary Wayne Peak was walking his dog and attempting to cross Rosewood Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Joseph Harris Roberts. Peak was walking near the sidewalk when he was struck. He sustained unspecified injuries in the crash and was taken by EMS to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. There is no further update on his condition at this time. Roberts was not hurt in the accident.

Officers are still investigating the accident. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed. No further details are available.
