Rutherford County, NC – UPDATE: Michael Green Identified as Victim in Thursday Crash

Rutherford County, NC (October 30, 2020) – The victim of a pedestrian crash in Rutherford County has now been identified by authorities. The crash happened on Thursday, October 29th on Pearidge Road near the intersection with Collins Road.

Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the crash. According to a report, 21-year-old Charles Allen Jacob Bramlett, of Forest City, was driving a pickup truck on Pearidge when he struck four people who were standing in the roadway clearing a downed tree. After the collision, Bramlett fled the scene. He was later located and arrested by police.

One of the four victims, 62-year-old Michael Gene Green, was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Two of the other victims were transported with serious injuries. There is no update on their conditions at this time.

Bramlett was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and felony hit-and-run causing serious injury or death. There is no additional information at this time.
