North Carolina Pedestrian Accidents
A North Carolina pedestrian accident is often a very serious matter for victims. Pedestrian accidents have an extremely high rate of injury, with more than 80% of these crashes resulting in the pedestrian being hurt in some way or another. Common injuries caused by pedestrian crashes include broken bones, head trauma, spinal cord injuries, and soft tissue injuries. These injuries can take a long time to heal and require extensive medical treatment that can result in mounting medical costs.
Many pedestrians are injured due to the negligence of motorists. Drivers who cause these crashes typically do so because they are inattentive to their surroundings. They might fail to see the pedestrian in a crosswalk, or may not slow down or stop until it is too late to avoid the crash. Unfortunately, the innocent pedestrian ends up with life-altering injuries that can affect their standard and quality of living on a daily basis.
If you have been hurt in a North Carolina pedestrian crash, you should speak with an attorney regarding your legal rights as soon as possible. You may be able to file a claim against the other driver and their insurance company to help you obtain valuable compensation. Only a trusted attorney can evaluate your case and determine the amount of compensation that you need in order to secure your future.
