Robeson County, NC – Sarah Dowd Killed in Car Accident on N.C. 41

Robeson County, NC (April 1, 2021) – A woman from White Oak was killed in a car accident that took place in Robeson County on Thursday, April 1st. The collision happened at approximately 8:43 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 41 near the intersection with Barnhill Road.

According to First Sargeant S.B. Lewis with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Daniel Robinson was operating a vehicle northbound on Highway 41. As Robinson traveled northbound, his car veered into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Sara Dowd of White Oak. Dowd died at the accident scene. Robinson was not seriously injured in the crash. There is no word on the cause of the collision at this time.

Following an investigation, troopers charged Robinson with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. No further information has been released.
