Lexington, NC - Two Dead Following Head-On Crash on I-85

Lexington, NC (June 6, 2020) – Two people were killed in a head-on crash on I-85 in Lexington. The crash happened on Saturday, June 6th around 2:30 a.m.

Police say that a male driver in a Chevy Tahoe was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway near the exit for Highway 64. The Tahoe collided head-on with a Chrysler that was traveling northbound. Both drivers of the Tahoe and the Chrysler were killed in the crash. A female passenger in the Chrysler was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It is not known whether alcohol played a role in the accident.
