Car accidents in North Carolina are becoming more and more common. In a five-year period leading up to 2019, our state saw an increase of more than 60,000 reported traffic accidents annually. As we continue to grow in population and the roadways become more crowded, it is to be expected that the number of accidents will also increase. Unfortunately, we should also expect to see more serious and fatal crashes as a result of this increase in the overall number of reported crashes.

Most car accidents in Kinston result from the actions of negligent motorists. Traffic laws are in place to keep us safe. Unfortunately, we have many drivers who choose not to follow these laws and instead engage in negligent driving behavior. Speeding, distraction, impairment, and other forms of reckless driving frequently lead to catastrophic accidents that claim the lives of innocent victims.
