Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina  Johnston County, NC - Two Killed in Head-On Crash on Old Fairground Rd.

North Carolina can be a dangerous state for motorists. According to the most recent reports, more than 1,400 people were killed in car accidents that took place across our state in 2019. This number has remained mostly stable over the past few years, although the total number of accidents and injury crashes has continued to increase. While many car accidents do not involve injuries, a substantial number of car accidents in North Carolina can lead to serious and even fatal outcomes. Many of the most serious crashes will also result in injuries to innocent victims.

There is nothing more devastating than the loss of a loved one in a North Carolina car accident. Suddenly, you are faced with the prospect of living life without your loved one. The pain is especially great when your relative was killed in a crash that was not their fault. Anger and grief are very common emotions following a major car accident. Although you are likely feeling discouraged during this difficult time, it is important to remember that you could have valuable legal rights. Under North Carolina law, if your loved one was killed as a direct result of another driver’s negligence, you could be entitled to file an action for wrongful death. A North Carolina wrongful death case must be filed within two years of the date of death. These actions can seek compensation for medical bills, loss of companionship, lost wages, and potentially more.
