Hillsborough, NC – One Killed in Crash on I-85 near Hillsborough

Hillsborough, NC (January 2, 2021) – Police and rescue officials responded to the scene of a fatal accident near Hillsborough on Friday, January 1st. The crash took place around 1:00 p.m. on Interstate 85 northbound next exit 163 and Old North Carolina Highway 86.

The Orange Rural Fire Department and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol both arrived at the crash scene just after the accident took place. At this time, there are no details available surrounding the cause of the accident. A white vehicle was seen on its side in the middle of the roadway. Officials did confirm that at least one person was killed in the accident, though there are no details on the number of cars involved or whether any other injuries were reported. The deceased victim’s identity is not available at this time.
