Greensboro, NC – Greensboro Police Respond to Injury Accident on I-40

Greensboro, NC (August 15, 2020) – The Greensboro Police Department was on the scene of a serious crash along Interstate 40 early Saturday morning. The crash happened around 4:00 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the roadway near the exit for Randleman Road.

Officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after the crash took place. When police arrived at the scene, they located at least one person suffering from severe injuries as a result of the crash. There was no immediate update on the nature of the injuries suffered or the condition of the victim. Police did not release any details on the cause of the accident or the identity of the victim.

Motorists were strongly advised to avoid the area as all of the westbound lanes were closed near Exit 221 for South Elm Eugene Street. The road was closed for several hours before reopening around 9:00 a.m., according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
