Forsyth County, NC – One Killed in Car Accident on I-40 near Union Cross Rd.

Forsyth County, NC (December 16, 2020) – One person is dead after a car accident in Forsyth County on Wednesday, December 16th. The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. near the exit for Union Cross Road.

According to a report from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on I-40 when it collided with a box truck. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The box truck driver was not injured. At this time, police have not identified the deceased victim. The roadway was wet at the time of the accident but the weather is not believed to have played a role in the crash.

The affected area remained closed until around 9:40 a.m. Motorists were advised to travel with caution near the crash scene. An investigation is ongoing.
