Forsyth County, NC (August 27, 2021) – A 17-year-old is dead following a car accident in Forsyth County on Friday. The collision took place just after 5:00 p.m. on North Carolina Highway 158.

Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident. According to investigators, a 2007 Chevrolet SUV, a 2019 International tractor-trailer and a white car were involved in the crash. The Chevrolet was driven by a 17-year-old from Walkertown while the tractor-trailer was driven by Michael Weinris of Lexington, South Carolina. Both vehicles were traveling west.

North Carolina can be a very dangerous place for motorists. With nearly 1,500 fatalities and 80,000 injuries reported due to traffic crashes in 2018, drivers must make every effort to operate their vehicles as safely and securely as possible. A car accident can take place suddenly and unexpectedly and can have catastrophic consequences. Many fatal accidents in North Carolina are caused by the actions of a negligent driver. This can include speeding, reckless driving, impairment, texting while driving, and more.

If you have lost a loved one due to a traffic crash on our roadways, you may have important legal rights. While nothing can ever replace the family member who is gone, seeking justice for wrongdoing is a necessary step for many victims who now find themselves faced with many financial hardships after a fatal crash. A North Carolina wrongful death claim can help family members receive compensation for funeral and medical bills, payment of lost wages, and loss of companionship, among other things. The money that you receive can help put you on a positive path as you try to move forward following a devastating tragedy.
