Carteret County, NC – Three Hurt in Car Accident on U.S. 70

Carteret County, NC (October 21, 2020) – Three people sustained injuries in a two-car crash in Carteret County on Tuesday, October 20th. The crash took place along US Highway 70 near East Chatham Street around 7:15 a.m.

According to a report, a 17-year-old girl was driving on East Chatham when her car was hit by another vehicle traveling westbound. The driver of the westbound vehicle was identified as a 52-year-old woman. The woman’s grandson was also in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

All three motorists involved in the crash were taken to area hospitals, with the 17-year-old girl transported to Vidant Hospital while the 52-year-old and her grandson were taken to Carteret Health Care. As of Tuesday evening, there was no update on the conditions of the victims. There is no word on the cause of the accident at this time and police are still conducting an investigation.
