Benjamin Hayes Brownlow
Benjamin Brownlow has a broad background in civil legal and civil litigation matters, having spent the majority of his career serving as in-house counsel to an international investment bank and boutique intellectual property consulting firm. He has extensive experience counseling clients with a focus on maximizing the value of their assets in various financial and technology areas, including network security, digital imaging, database software, mobile device power management, location-based services, and medical devices. Through his efforts, clients have realized millions of dollars in gross licensing revenue.
Benjamin formerly worked at a boutique IP consulting firm, where he performed initial portfolio evaluation and infringement analysis on a variety of technical areas, as well as managed patent infringement litigation against a multitude of Fortune 500 defendants. Benjamin also has experience working in the legal department of an international investment bank, where he provided securities law guidance on a variety of legal issues impacting investment bank operations.
After spending years in the complex corporate world, Benjamin decided to enter the private law firm sector so that he can put his experience to work and offer his services to the citizens of the Triangle Communities and the State of North Carolina. At Burton Law Firm, Benjamin focuses on civil legal matters and he represents accident victims and their families on personal injury and wrongful death cases, and businesses and employees in a broad range of commercial matters.
A life-long Tarheel, Benjamin earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2012 as well as a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. He lives in Raleigh with his wife Whitney and son Winston and enjoys playing guitar and quality time outdoors with his family.
